Huawei Mate 10s official teaser has revealed a dual camera set-upAugust 30, 2017
Huawei is all set to launch its smartphone, the Mate 10, on the 16th of October in Germany. A few weeks before the official launch takes place, the company has released a sneak peek of what the phone is going to look like. The teaser shows that the device is going to have a dual camera set-up.
The teaser was first spotted by Roland Quandt, who is a known leakster. It does not outright mention what the name of the device is but it does mention the term “Huawei Mate” which is enough proof that the device being talked about is the Mate 10. The video was shared on the German YouTube channel of Huawei.
The video is focussed on the dual camera module of the phone. It starts off by showing sample photos taken on the Mate 10 which show off the motion and the focus of the device. Then it goes ahead to show the set-up which has a RGB sensor of 12 megapixels along with a monochrome sensor of 20 megapixels. It also reveals that the tradition of the company is going to continue by keeping the same brand of the camera: Leica.
While this is expected to be the highlight of the device, the Mate 10s chipset is also being touted as one to look out for. It has been said that it will run on the Kirin 970 SoC which is a competitor of the Snapdragon 835. A leak that has been out recently has said that it will house an octa-core CPU and will have four Cortex A-73 cores which clock at 2.8GHz. The other four Cortex-A53 cores will operate on an unknown frequency.
It is also rumoured that the display of the device is going to be a 6.1 inch one with Quad HD AMOLED. The company has named this display the ‘EntireView’ display and it has an aspect ratio of 18:9. It has been confirmed that the display is not going to have any bezels. The software that the phone will operate on is most likely going to be the Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The storage on the device is going to be expandable with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The dual camera that is being talked about so much, is also present on the Mate 9 and the Huawei P10. The dual camera on the Mate 9 has features like a dual-core ISP, professional DSP which will help in processing and focusing speeds, and the depth measurement ISP. On the other hand, the Huawei P10 has features like the Natural Bokeh Effect, Huawei Hybrid Zoom (2x) and the 4-in-1 Hybrid Auto-Focus. It is expected that the features that the Mate 10 has will be more advanced.
Rumors also exist that the device is going to support 3D sensing, Augmented Reality and facial recognition. The expected price of this device is around INR 38,500 and the CEO of the company has said that it is going to be competing with the iPhone that Apple is going to launch this year. We cannot wait to see what the company comes out with.
